Changes, Shifts and Expansion

Posted on May 20th, 2010 by Sarah Dolliver in Uncategorized, What Is An Inner Adventurer?

To free up time and energy…To discover more about myself…To embrace the unknown for all it has to give…That’s why this is my last planned post for now.

Why? Inner urges are calling me to something new. What it is exactly, I’m not sure yet.

One thing I do know: For greater things, and anything new, to show up in life, one has to create a void. You have to create space for it to exist. You have to let go. And then, just let it be. So that’s what I’m doing now by shedding some current things I currently do, creating a void for something new to enter. Space opens up and expansion becomes possible.

Sharing these posts with you has been a wonderful experience. I’ve learned the discipline of writing on a regular basis. I’ve explored topics at a personal level that I may not have shared any other way. I revealed truths about my life that I hadn’t spoken of before, except to very close friends. I tried to challenge you to explore your own depths, too. I hope it has been worthwhile and fulfilling for you as it has been for me.

One of the hardest things to accept about our human existence is the absolute impermanence of everything. Things change. They move and shift. Nothing is as we knew it only moments ago. And so, too, our lives change and shift.

Most of the time, we fight against the shifts with resistance, denial or excuses. Emotional energy can build up, especially when a change is forced on you such as with my hiatus here, and one can easily feel resentful or want to whine a bit.

What would it be like to embrace change? To relish in it? To feel exhilarated by it? To let go and wander expectantly into the unknown?

Why not give it a try for yourself? That’s what I’ll be doing!

Best wishes for now. I may show up again when something burns to be shared.

I hope that this discourse has helped you in some way. I’d like to leave you with these words:

Forever Young

By Jim Cregan and Rod Stewart

May the good Lord be with you
Down every road you roam
And may sunshine and happiness
Surround you when you’re far from home
And may you grow to be proud, dignified and true
And do unto others as you’d have done to you
Be courageous and be brave
And in my heart you’ll always stay
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young

May good fortune be with you
May your guiding light be strong
Build a stairway to heaven
With a prince or a vagabond
And may you never love in vain
And in my heart you will remain
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young

And when you finally fly away
I’ll be hoping that I served you well
For all the wisdom of a lifetime
No one can ever tell
But whatever road you choose
I’m right behind you, win or lose
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young
For, forever young, forever young

I’m off to reside in the void and expand once again.

Shift Your Consciousness

Posted on June 5th, 2009 by Sarah Dolliver in Uncategorized

I just experienced a remarkable process with a talented, aware coach.

Recently, I realized I was still being held back by some ancient patterns and thoughts from my conditioning as I grew up. What a realization! Don’t we all have them, though? What is important to appreciate about them is that you can choose to do something about them NOW instead of continuing to live with them.

I was fortunate to gain the acquaintance of Anne Walsh, a fellow coach from Galway, Ireland, just a few months ago. She introduced me to a process she uses to dissolve the tightly woven webs of our limiting beliefs.

Using my body as wisdom and our common connection to the collective consciousness, Anne worked her magical methods with me. Her own HSP nature enhances her methodology. She is intuitive, collaborative and gentle. Never pushing…only observing and relating to me as another sensitive person. Ah, what a joy to have that experience.

449022_light_trails_1We surfaced the pattern I brought to our call and dug for its roots in the thoughts and beliefs I related to it. Each of those has a connection to my body. So we made time to locate and fully feel each one. Then we set a positive intention in place. She followed that by a state of being with a physical cue that would return me that state whenever I chose to go there. She even followed up with me a few days later to assure I was on the path I had elected to be on.

Since that experience, I’ve been more present to what is going on, more tuned into my body and at ease with life flowing as it comes, even when it is not so pleasant. I’m also less reactive to those stressful moments that could have caused an outburst in the way I handled them in the past. Just some early proof that this process works in amazing ways.

Has it been difficult for you to break old patterns or kick some thoughts out of your life for good? Then I strongly suggest you come to the call I’m presenting on this topic on June 16th. For all the details, click here. And it’s fr.ee!

Built-In Support

Posted on March 23rd, 2009 by Sarah Dolliver in Uncategorized

You might have come to think that the Inner Adventurer makes all their progress through their inner will. Not quite. Yes, inner will plays a part. Also in the mix is support.

Anything is easier to achieve when you get support. It comes in many forms: people, practices, accountability and more. So let me give you a few examples of how support works for you.

Last week, I had a busy day with lots to accomplish, I had several appointments as well as things to get written. Creative stuff, you know, that can draw a lot of energy from you. I was concerned that I’d be able to get it all done. So I set up some support for myself.

I knew any success would get upset if I looked too far into the future at all there was to do. So I made a pact with myself to stay present. That awareness kept my focus on what was right in front of me at that moment. Being present is support for what you desire.

For the first writing project, I set myself a deadline – 2 hours. Whatever I got done in that time would have to be it. One hour later, I was done and completely happy with what I produced. Yeah, I found an extra hour to use for my other project.

This one was more complicated. So I e-mailed a friend for support, asking if we could talk it through on the phone. No word came back from her, so I plunged in and started it myself. Shortly, I found myself thinking, “This isn’t as hard a job as I thought.” I kept plugging away and took a few breaks to center myself before resuming. The entire project was done that day without speaking to my friend. I made it through my difficult day.

Then, another great example of support is my cousin, Ruth Gorton. Ruth is an artist who loves to put brush to canvas. She also loves

teaching art to children. Her average day is full of both…and of support.

Just over 2 years and more than 450 paintings ago, Ruth started her Daily Paintings. Each day, she paints and sends her creation to an e-mail list. The art you see here in this post are some of her Daily Paintings.

Ruth knows that she has a promise to her e-mail list to get a painting to them each Monday to Friday, excepting holidays. This motivates her to find inspiration and produce something on a regular basis. And, in return, her work will inspire you.

To sign up for her Daily Paintings list, go to her web site and click on Contact the Artist. Send her an e-mail with your preferred e-mail address to get on the list. Then sit back and enjoy art in your e-mail box each workday!

I think you get the ideas about built-in support. It doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, the easier, the better. Whether one time or ongoing, support always helps you achieve more than simply muscling through with inner will alone.

How do you build in support for your achievement?
